It seems to me that Hermoso's reaction and Rubiales' behavior is typical of a culture of machismo in Spain that has been going on for centuries…in other videos and photographs Rubiales takes many liberties when touching the bodies of female players, liberties that must be normalized in daily life in Spain. In short, Spain had to wake up to the 21st century somehow and at some point and that is what we are witnessing.
