  1. Nike and addidas destroy football jersey market …. people like us can't effort football jersey …
In india original jersey price is 4000 rs minimum and my salary is 35 000 ….its not worth it to pay extra money to America company
Its better too buy first copy jersey

  2. I dont know why people complain about buying football shirts for $80 with production being $8 while other brands like Gucci has products made for $10 but sell it for $2000

  3. Your inflation reasoning for the football shirt pricing is wrong. During those 30 years, production also moved to cheap locations; production costs are the same/lower than 30 years ago, because they're made in Vietnam/China/Sri Lanka etc.

  4. I live in Iraq and i bought an authentic player issue Barca shirt for 20$. At first i thought no way this is actually authentic but it has the same exact details. Quality. Printing style and materials as the one i bought online from Barca store for 140 Euros. It made me regret buying the later😂

  5. Profits have to made, that much i can understand but if something is costing less than a few quid to make, theres no reason it should be selling for well over 60 or 70 quid

  6. The replica market from Asia where you can buy a shirt for €15-€20 is where I am gonna stick for now. Haven't bought a shirt in ages and ordered 2 which will cost me €35 for both.

  7. Inflation doesn’t match the difference cause there more people buying jersey so mass sell off should make it even cheaper and productivity of jersey making if pretty much monopoly adidas Nike puma

  8. in our country Afghanistan, the replica shirts are 4$ even less sometimes. and one of my friends gifted me an authentic version of the Barcelona shirt. there is not much difference between the two.

  9. Please use currencies that exist around the 70s 80s 90s, there was no euro, so your examples could be easily misunderstood as selfcreated with no research intended

  10. Hmmm…in my experience they’ve always been pretty expensive. At least in the US. It was hard to get jerseys because there was no real market and demand was limited to those small soccer loving populations, so everything was imported. I’m talking since the mid 90’s. Even after the US World Cup.

And soccer specialty stores were limited. Being of Mexican descent I grew up watching the Mexican league and again, those jerseys were imported and were always between $70 and $90 USD. MLS eventually emerged and they were also in the same range. I recall my parents not being able to afford them and if I ever did jet a jersey I would feel guilty. I got a Mexico ABA Sport jersey from 1996, right before the legendary 98 jersey. I regret not getting that 98 one now. But like I mentioned, the imports were expensive and so were the MLS ones. I also didn’t get the first LA Galaxy jersey because of the price.

Eventually the market for soccer in the US grew and you would eventually have the chance of getting a previous season’s kit for $45 USD.

Either way the story of soccer jerseys around the world is interesting. Awesome video.
